Romanticism and Frankenstein
There are numerous connections between Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley, and the Romantic period because..well because Frankenstein was written during that period. But anyways, Romanticism was about a connection to nature that broke the confines that religion once held on the human society. And if I am not mistaken a monster created from various body parts is definitely a connection to the natural world, a bit sadistic, but connected nonetheless. The Romantic period also leaned toward solitude and connection to a persons inner being, and Frankenstein shows that clearly bythe way that the doctor hides from his creation after it comes to life. Finally, my favorite theme being "sticking it to the man" is basically the banner that should be plastered on each book. Honestly, how is going against all of religions teachings and science to create a MONSTER not sticking it to the man?!
